DOCRES VNO is a long term program under the umbrella of "Vilnius – European Capital of Culture 2009", implemented in partnership with an independent production company ERA FILM. It is intended to be used by emerging professional filmmakers. This program is made up of two projects: Artists Residency and MEDIALAB. DOCRES VNO is open to all young professional artists world-wide. The filmmakers are welcome to come to Vilnius and enjoy the entire film making process: from project development to post production. DOCRES VNO is the only artist residency program in the Baltic Region as well as the entire Eastern Europe for film professionals. Artists from different countries live and work together while learning from each other, sharing experiences and creating social networking. DOCRES VNO aims are: • provide emerging filmmakers the possibility to work and develop creative ideas in Vilnius; • exchange experience and ideas through the dialogue of international cooperation; • introduce film professionals from around the world to Lithuanian audiences; • organize seminars and workshops for Lithuanian beginners and professionals; • encourage talented youth to work together. Dzintars Dreibergs (Latvia) has created a few feature films and documentaries. Presently he is working on a full length film. This year, Dzintars had two premiers of his films at the cinema "RIGA". He has received awards from the Liverpool Film Festival and the Latvian National Film Festival.
Kristin Raup (Estonia) graduated from Tallinn University (the Film and Video Department) as a director and cinematographer in 2005. She has produced and directed four documentaries and one short feature film. Kristin has worked as a cinematographer, director's assistant in documentaries, TV series, feature, and video films. Kristin Raup has earned several awards in Film Festivals such as White Nights in Russia; Azerbaijan Audiovisual Festival and Estonian Films Day.
Bram Crols (Belgium). "Township Jive (2006)" and "Building the Legend (2007) are his best known films. At the moment he is working on several projects as director and producer. Bram Crols organizes the film festival "European Cultural Capital on Screen". Within the framework of the festival, two Lithuanian film figures - Audrius Stonys and Arūnas Matelis were introduced to Belgian audiences and filmmakers this year. "What's Next?". The film pictures the city from a perspective of its "guardian angels". It reveals comical and dangerous moments through the sincere and non official story caught by foreigner.
"In Dialogue". Two different individuals in everyday work situations show how their lives are shaped by the same city and time frame.
"Eternal Girl". Inga, a character in a well known Lithuanian film "Grazuole" (The Beauty), which dates from 1969, is brought back by the filmmaker. After four decades of "Grazuole", a 10 year old girl at that time, this film portrays the exploration of the concepts of beauty through the role of Inga.
